Cousins from Tennessee! {May 15, 2010}

Boy were we missing these faces.

Pete's brother, aka Uncle Aaron, lives in Tennessee (can't wait til he gets his butt back here) and we don't get to see them NEAR enough.  This was a particularly long span, they were last here before Christmas!!!
Madness I tell you!!!

Aaron has his 3 kids, Leddie, Aubrey and Mason- and then Mason's Mom has 2 kids Chelsea and Ethan, of which Chelsea came.  It was a GREAT weekend.

Ah hem... Ever been to a Hawkes get-together?
Well well well.
Things are always hectic, always loud, always crazy and never on time.

Usually when everyone's in town, we just hang around Pete's parents house, maybe go for Mexican one night.  There are too many people, opinions and schedules to work around.  Well, JUNIOR AND I didn't want to do that this time so we tried to schedule, in advance mind you, a cook out at the park.  That way the kids could play together and would get everyone out of the house.

Little did we know it would be a BEAUTIFUL day and everyone else in town thought it would be a good idea too.  We ended up setting up camp in the grass, brought our grill in the back of the truck with some fold out tables and chairs.  Not quite what we were thinking, but it worked.

Everyone of course gets there late, and no joke, the burgers were left at home in the trunk of the other car.

Even a Hawkes can't top that.

It really was an accident... Aaron loaded up the food and left before seeing his parents get into the OTHER car to drive there.
So Troy eventually leaves to go get the food, and our 11 o'clock cook out ended up around 1ish I think.

Ah well.  The park was beautiful, and there was a water fountain the kids got a 'taste' of since they didn't have bathing suits.

Ahhh....

Can't you just smell sunscreen and burgers cooking on the grill...

: )

Coolest chick in town ; )

She loved the fountain, to be expected.  She is our 'roller coaster baby' after all.

Becca and Lisa's Chelsea

All 7 of the grandkids-

Family, that's what it's all about.

There is NOTHING I would trade for this bunch of people.

Everyone brings their own talents, personalities, and passion for something different.

We all have someone to share our joy with, lean to for support, and a good debate is never hard to find.

There's never a lack of a fair butt kicking for any of the ruff-housing Hawkes men too. (and Becca)

What makes our family as a whole is the combination of our relationships and what we give to each other.

They are who we spend our lives with.
And they are irreplaceable.  Every single one of them.

I love you guys, thank you for being a part of my life.
