Zoo trip- {September 2, 2010}

We're BAAAAACK!
It's been a while since our last zoo trip since it has been so hot this summer, and we've really missed it.
I will be SO happy to see cooler weather this fall.

This will be my yard one day... wouldn't that be nice!?

Whoa.  This is one of my FAVORITES of her.
I really do miss her little fountain hair-do though, she's a big girl now I guess.  Sniff, sniff.

Yeah.  My Mom loves this one...
She came across this picture a couple weeks ago, and I paired it with Reagan's from this trip.
How perfect is that.
No doubt she's my child!

This is the "OH I know!" face that follows the "hum..." and the chin tap when she has to think of an answer.

She can't pass by this little house without spending at least 10 minutes in it.  Running around screaming with excitement and going in and out the door and peeking through the windows.  I just had to add her name to the wall.  ; )

This right here was the greatest.  We walk into the gorilla observation room for the first time and it is full of about 30-35 people.  I hate that, because I like to get pictures without tons of people around, and there was even a guy at the front giving his factoids to kids on a field trip.  Everyone in the room was sitting back from the glass, politely, and Reagan wasn't letting that stop her.  She squealed when she saw him and ran up to give the gorilla the biggest hug, right through the glass.  All the parents in the room were laughing, and I just thought she was the cutest thing ever.  What made that little girl decide right then that the gorilla needed a hug just boggles me.  (there's a few more pics up top in the post)

Love her.

-Kiss and Hug-
Muffin got upset because she didn't want to sit on the wall for a picture.  All Junior had to do was talk to her, hug and kiss, and she was happy to do it.  Oh and a graham cracker didn't hurt either.  I only wish those two things would work forever.

Aaaaand here's my picture.

This is the favorite "Nemo" shirt.  She takes the two fish on the front and always makes them kiss.
So so cute.

Shaving 101 {August 17, 2010}

Photobucket

Reagan has had a few lessons in shaving from her Daddy.
Her weapon of choice is a hair barrette which is so cute, but she's not quite ready for the shaving cream.
Now whenever Junior is in the bathroom she assumes that he is shaving and runs for her barrette.

He enjoys it so much he WILL NOT shave unless she can be with him.
I love them.

  First thing Junior said when I came running with the camera that day was "these better not go on the blog!"  He really didn't want me to post these of him with no shirt, way too modest.  We'll see how long they last til he finds out they're on here.  Ha!  ; )

Reagan pretends to do her mouthwash- she even tries to spit in the sink.  So funny!

Reagan's thumb sucking has gotten more frequent, and she now does it during the day.  When some kids might have a blankie they hold, she has her belly button.  I think if she had on one-piece jammies and couldn't reach her belly button, she would cry from not being able to suck her thumb.  I bought ahead last season for some footed jammies, and I think we may have for sew a hole in them so she can reach it.
Would that not be hysterical?!

Beach Bums {August 10, 2010}

Photobucket

Sorry for taking so long, buuuuut....
Here's our Beach trip!
We had fun with Leddie and Aubrey, and hated to see them have to go back to Tennessee at the end of the week.

For some reason, we have this tradition of going to Longhorn's for dinner when we're in HH.  It makes no sense to any of us, especially since there's one a couple miles from home.  We never eat there though, because some how it's just not "the same."?

So, after dinner that night, I took the girls in the condo for a potty break and clothes change, and we hit the beach for their pictures.

They really enjoyed themselves, and took the modeling job very seriously.

I'm not usually out after dusk for a session, but boy did it pay off that night.  We were only out there less than an hour, until just after 8, and it was seriously getting dark quick.

I turned to head for the boardwalk, and looked up at this sky.
WOW.
"RUN GIRLS! BACK TO THE DUNES!!!  QUICK!!!"

They were so cute trying to run in flip-flops, sinking into the sand trying to catch up. They were just as eager to get the shots, and Leddie was full of good ideas of where she wanted to take her pictures.
If you ever pay attention to sunsets, their beauty can literally last less than 5 minutes, and turn to flat grey right before your eyes.  It's catching the right moment that makes it tricky.  You almost have to be staring at it waiting, who does that?!  And even then, sometimes it's a flop.  Ahhhh, but it was perfect that night.

Nana has already said she wants a serious portrait above her couch of this shot, and said it will stay there forever.  It is so fitting since the beach is her favorite place to be, and they have been vacationing on this beach for 15+ years.  I can't wait to get something hung for her.

We have taken pictures out here throughout the year, and late summer/fall is my favorite.  The dunes are "blooming" or whatever you call it, and it is so beautiful.  I would LOVE to schedule someone for a beach session next month...!  We will be on our cruise October 10th-14th and will be traveling home that Thursday the 14th.  I would love to get someone on the books for that night at sunset, but there will only be one slot since we will want to be getting home.  Call me quick!  : )

*I promise to be starting a Viva blog soon, for all this "portrait taking" stuff, but I wanted to let my friends know about the sunset shots.  Family session anyone?!
Thanks : )

Leddie and another beach-goer were digging up starfish.  We have actually never done that, and they really enjoyed themselves.  The other family had one with all different length limbs, (weird, didn't know they could grow like that-) but Leddie got this huge one!  Wish we could have kept it in a tank and name it Peach.  (Yes, I know the ENTIRE Finding Nemo movie.)
