Savannah. {April 11, 2011}

Some big news for us... Junior passed his realtor's exam!
Junior has been working on getting his realtor's license, and he did it!  The final exam was in Savannah, so the three of us made a day trip out of it.  We went downtown first to let Reagan run around for a while in some of the parks and OF COURSE to take pictures ; )  Some top choices of 'places to live' would be either Savannah or Asheville.  I picked out a little house on one of the squares that really should be my studio.  Too bad it's an old historic bed and breakfast and they probably wouldn't move out for me.  Oh well.

Around lunch, Reagan and I dropped off Junior for his exam.  While we waited, we went to the mall for a few hours.  The 2 COOLEST things that trip... Seeing the Easter Bunny and Bass Pro Shops.  I have never thought that seeing the Easter bunny was an important thing, and would have never taken her.  This was all her idea.  She ran up to that bunny SO excited, I couldn't believe it.  I was just beaming as she sat up there talking to him and smiling like such a big kid.  I really didn't think I was even going to buy the stupid picture (duh) but her little self with her little... everything... I just... ooooh!  I couldn't help it!  And we had to have the memory to share with daddy too since he couldn't be there.  To this day she still talks about seeing the 'Eassa Bunny' (and sounds so southern when she says it.)  So cute!

Bass Pro Shops was the coolest.  I have never taken her to one since they aren't near us, but she would literally move in there.  'See ya mommy'- and happy as a clam.  She drove everything possible, touched everything possible, and hid in every clothes stand she could.  The fish tanks were cool, but the best was getting to see Bambi and his mommy.  There is an exhibit in the center of the store with deer, coyotes, bears and stuff.  She spotted him before I did, and startled me (and the entire store) with her shrill of excitement!
"BAMBI!  It's Bambi mommy!  Lut mommy!  It's a Bambi and his mommy!"
She also found Bruce the Shark but never saw Nemo and Dori, they were hiding in the fish tank.

The day went great, she napped on my way back to get Junior, and then we went for dinner at Outback to celebrate.  They give you immediate results while you're there, so we knew he passed!  Woo hoo!

She asks Junior all the time:
"sween me HIGH now daddy!  HIGHER!"
She will for sure be a roller coaster baby.

I've been keeping a list of all the cute stuff she is saying lately that I hope to put in the next post.
She amazes me, and cracks me up every day.
I can't WAIT to share some recent Reaganisms.

Me. {May 20, 2011}

Hey.
  I can't ever seem to blog, and it irritates me to sit down to work and see that tidy little line of 12 folders.  All patiently waiting for me to edit the pictures and upload to share.  Augh!  You WILL get them in order, so sorry for the wait, just busy.  I have had some wonderful sessions and weddings lately, and every time I come home after a shoot I'm all fired up for the next one.  I love it!  Okay I'm going to very humbly brag a little, because this is MY blog, but I have been kicking butt lately.  Anyone who's been in front of my lens knows that I am anything but predictable.  I NEVER know exactly where I want to shoot, and mostly let color and light direct me.  Sometimes flash, sometimes not- ALWAYS striving to shoot every session with fresh eyes.  Everyone has their strengths, and I'd never be able to let them shine if I only had "staple" poses.  Yuck.  I have to say that having gracious comments from the people I've had the pleasure of photographing has helped me evolve to who I am now, and I thank them for that. : )  I love hearing their stories, getting to know them and learning what makes them important to someone else in their life.  I would love to share the stories behind the pictures, and I will someday.  I just have to get a Viva blog started.
There in lies the problem...
Another project.
Humph.

Well... I have been making an effort lately to reach out and make more contacts with vendors, (churches, florists, caterers) because referrals are SO important and we love getting new clients!  Of course : )
I can't wait to see where we'll be in 3 years.  So exciting.

Back to work, and never a post without some muffin ; )

Savannah trip next : )

Biltmore- Part 2 {April 8, 2011}

I love this face.  She makes me smile : )

The night before our trip, I was packing since we were staying the night, and I realized I didn't have a dress for Reagan. HUGE problem, since we were SURELY taking pictures of her in the garden. It was 8:30, and I called Junior to buy something quick before he came home. He bought about 6 Polo dresses for me to pick from, all cute, but we agreed on these two. They were PERFECT, and I just couldn't shut up about it all day. He did an awesome job, and of course magically got them on sale. Gotta love him : )

The greatest thing EVER... My IPad. It was an early birthday present form my dad, and Reagan LOVES it.  It has been a life saver on a few occasions.  She played her math game which kept her occupied while we did a quick tour of 'her tastle.' She does pretty good subtracting with small numbers which amazes me- and yet, she won't use the potty.
Go figure. She's still 2 1/2 so I'm not stressing yet, but... come on already!

Her favorite app right now plays tons of Disney clips from different movies. She loves the Too-Whitz video, and sings along with her. Her little voice is so cute I can't stand it.

"My wishing! my wishing!
for the one I wov, to find me! to find me!
today... TODAY!!!"

This is what Junior did half the time I was taking pictures, a fun game of chase the baby.  She thought it was hysterical, weather he was tired or not : )  He's a good sport, but he wants good pictures just a much as I do, if not worse.  Reason 847 I married him : )

She was so proud of her new dresses, excuse me...
"my pincess dess mommy!"  : )

Can't wait to go back in the fall.  Anyone in?
