Why I'm here... {April 14, 2010 zoo trip}

I can't hardly stand it!

I know I've got other things to catch up on, but I HAD to post a few from the zoo trip.
I am slowly feeling like I'm catching up on things.
Mostly because the pile of laundry, on both couches, is finally folded.
I still have 6 lists of things I need to finish, random all over the house, and most of which is computer stuff.  Lately I've been setting up with new customers, sending emails/reminders, orders, and ordering new samples of some cool products.  Then I decided.  I have been wanting to upgrade my site to something a little different.  So I now have slapped a few DAYS worth of designing on my plate to top it off.  Did I mention Reagan just hit 18 MONTHS and boy does she fall under the typical.  Not really wanting other people, even Daddy, and little whiny at times.  She really is such a good baby, and I contribute the molers coming in to her occasional fussiness.  They are ENORMOUS!  They look too big for her tiny little mouth!  I swear only 4 more could possibly fit in there, but we are only up to 12!

     I think the reality of trying to start up a business and be a full time Mommy is, well, EXCITING.
I really want to take on more with the business, and what has kept me so busy lately is just getting into the swing of things. For as long as I've been doing this, it is so exhilarating to be able to have things my way, my products, and my style. There has been this artist inside that hasn't really come out to play in years. I surprise myself everyday, and can't wait for every photo shoot, every wedding booked, every child born.  Sometimes I wish my camera battery would just DIE ALREADY so that I would stop taking pictures during a session.  Give me some good, cooperative models, and I could go on for hours.  The bad part is, I have to then edit ALL THOSE IMAGES too.

Ah well... I love what I do.

I don't think I could ever loose the passion that drives me to create my favorite form of art.  Photography  is the best way for us to look back and remember.  Details, feelings, events, anything really.  For a picture to paint what it was like to be in the moment.
When Junior held Reagan in the delivery room, her poofy hair that felt like dryer lint and her little booty in her first bathing suit at the beach.   All the little things are just as important to me, and I try to give those same memories to other families.  Also to approach a wedding with the same care and attention as I would wish for my own.
To remember your 1 year old's little scrunchy giggles and the way your husband flips her over his shoulder... those are the things that will soon be lost.  When I look back on Reagan pictures, I don't cherish the dressy formals any more than the playing pictures.

It's all about the moment we were in at that point in our lives... and being able to capture it.

That's why I'm here.

Sissy and the Kissaholic {April 2010}

Yeah, she tolerates her.
 Her being Reagan.
Cirsie was always the baby of the house, VERY pampered, but I would say she has adjusted well since Reagan came along.  It's more like her feelings are hurt that she's not the center of attention, and she snubs Reagan more than anything.  Reagan sure does LOVE her though!

Please excuse the following... they were taken with my 'daiper bag camera'...  it's a memory anyway...

Dinner at Carrabba's - Junior took his girls on a date : )

In case you counted, that was 5 kissing pictures.

This has been one kissaholic baby over the past few weeks.  She can be in the middle of anything, playing, eating, even driving down the road, and she has the desire to give us kisses.  It is the sweetest thing!
And they usually come in a long line of kisses.
The other night in the bath tub, she must have kissed us 25 time each.  No joke.

I love it, BUT...  she tried to kiss the stock boy in Wal-Mart the other day, and the lady at check out in Publix.  Yeah, I guess we have to draw the line somewhere.

This is what she does when Daddy leaves... Tisses him at the door, then through the door.
Then we wave to him from the deck.
Everytime.

The random tisses.  Junior was sleeping by the way : )

This is Junior's favorite... so much he slept right through it.  She isn't a snuggle bug, so we take what we can get when she watches her shows.  The only time she really holds still for you to hold her.

Hilton Head sessions... {April 9, 2010}

Sorry it has been a while since my last post. Since, we have been to the beach Master's week and another trip to the zoo. I had sessions in Hilton Head and then this past Saturday (the week after) I had another engagement session downtown. Editing for those take so long, and with limited computer time during the day, it takes me a while. Okay, part of it is a computer not up-to-par in speed, and the fact that I've shown my couples/families a million pictures. All of which I fully edit to all look jam-up. So I know I'm asking for it, but when I can put out some good work, it's worth it right?! Anyway, my sessions went great, and everyone was awesome to work with. Perfect weather, and uh... can we say 'GOOD LOOKIN' PEOPLE!' My engagement couples were so cute, love ya Kyle & Warren, Brittany & Ian, they were so patient with me. I kept saying "we're done", and then I'd find another spot. They were happy with thier images, but I probably gave WAY too may choices, they'll never decide.

Kyle and Warren drove from Florida for thier beach session! He actually proposed to her on the beach, so it was only fitting : )

It's on my list to start a Viva blog, but until then, I just had to share a few of my favs...

These of Ian and Brittany were taken in downtown Augusta...

And of course the 2 most BEAUTIFUL families I've EVER photographed. Beth and Lori. You both are awesome. Your girls were wonderful of course, and thank you for driving all that way for your pictures. This summer we just have to get family pics when husbands are available and coordinate! Love you guys!

Cup of Tea Daddy? {March 28, 2010}

 Reagan LOVES "cookin' in the kitchen"
  We have a little song (for everything really) and she runs to her kitchen to start cookin'.

Sometimes she cooks, sometimes she wants to be served, but she knows all of her foods, and how to serve each of them.  She always cooks the grapes with the donuts (?) and pretends to put whipped cream on the 'hot chocolate'.  I drink hot chocolate probably 3 days a week, always with whipped cream, so that is what she chooses to serve in her kitchen.
The poptart always needs salt, and she always shares her bananas with me.
Only for her Daddy will she cook her mini pizza in the mini oven, since that is his favorite.
The orange is the only edible food, even though it's plastic, and she knows Mommy likes the pink desert and Daddy likes the brown (chocoholic.)
She is so much fun... she even gets the the head of lettuce when I ask for a salad.  : )

The ZOO!!! {April 5, 2010}

Photobucket

Okay, new favorite place.

We spent the morning at the zoo yesterday, and I am so in love.  I will probably get annual passes and visit A LOT...  The botannical garens were beautiful, I was happy just visiting that without even seeing any animals.  Obviously we didn't stop there, and Reagan got to see lions, tigers, and bears oh my!

This is all still the botannical gardens.  I could have gone on forever in there.

It's like they planted the tulips just for me, and the pansies were exploding everywhere.  Heaven.

Off to see the animals...

Tiger!  Reagan roared and waved to all the "appropriate" animals...  She would have stood there for an hour just watching the tiger.  He paced back and forth and roared a lot.  So entertaining.

The lions were another story...
