SaraBeth... GETTING MARRIED!!!

Well SaraBeth and Eran are finally married. We all knew it would eventually happen, it just took him a little while. Mom, Reagan, Junior and I all got to fly up for the wedding in Chicago this weekend, and I was the 'event photographer.' I don't know if I've ever taken so many pictures in a 48 hour period. (Well, maybe)

The wedding was B-E-A-utiful, and with so much heritage, it was almost a culture shock for me (and I was half raised in SaraBeth's Jewish household.) They had a full blown Jewish ceremony, and all aspects of their traditions were observed. I don't know if I've ever been to a wedding that celebrated in such a way, with so much happiness and respect for one another, as well as their religious beliefs. The Rabi was wonderful, explaining all the motions and why certain prayers, songs, and ceremonies were performed. We really learned allot from him about the whole Jewish religion. Every song, dance, drink, and laugh was truly in celebration of SaraBeth and Eran's happiness, and I am so thankful we could be a part of it all.

We had a wonderful time, and other than messing up Reagan's schedule the first day by getting her up at 4am, everything went fairly smooth. Reagan was such a good baby, even through flights and all, and she was so happy and glad to see everyone there.

I have of course started on SB's pictures, and have a handful ready to post, but I have to wait. She and Eran are still on their honeymoon in Mexico, and I want to wait until they can see them first. Wouldn't that suck if you got a phone call of someone commenting on your wedding pictures YOU haven't even seen yet? She'll be back Sunday and until then, I can post pics of Reagan's first plane ride and trip to the big city!

SaraBeth, SaraBeth, SaraBeth {June 10, 2009}

So those of you who have known me forever, know my SaBet. We met when we first started school at Augusta Prep in Kindergarten. It still amazes us that we can say we've been best friends since we were 5 years old. Anyway, over the years SaraBeth has moved all over the country, taken plenty of trips around the world, and we have always remained friends and kept tabs on each other. When we were growing up, our family's would take vacations and always let the 'adopted daughter' tag along. We went everywhere from the beach, the mountains, Disney World, even London and Scotland.

Thankyou for being there for me all these years, and here's to the next generation of Hawkes & Salzman children... I love ya SB!

Daddy's girl...{June 5, 2009}

Junior has been off this week for his vacation, school AND work. We didn't take any trips or anything, since we just went to the beach, and next weekend we have SaraBeth's wedding in Chicago. We spent good old fashioned family time together. Nothing eventful, but Reagan had her Daddy wake her up every morning, and after every nap. Even ride in the back seat with her sometimes on the way to the store. Wow. She was in heaven. His schedule keeps him so busy, with school and work, we don't see him a whole lot. He really only gets an hour or so at lunch with her, between school and work.
The cutest thing...
Last night, Junior came home from work, around 10pm, and went and got the video camera. He sat there watching a video I had shot of Reagan a couple days ago, playing in her new walker. He said he missed her and it was the closest he could get since she's always asleep when he gets home. I love that man.

Anna's Recital {June 3, 2009}

Anna is quite the little ballerina! She takes two classes, ballet and tap, and she really was one of the best one's out there! Followed every move of the teacher... we were so proud. Reagan and her Daddy came too, (helped me so I could take pictures) and Junior said when the curtain went down, out came the famous Reagan yell. Maybe she liked watching the costumes on stage SO much and she REALLY wanted them to come back. It'll be her turn someday : )

Here and there... May 2009

This, right here, is heavenly. Her soft little neck is the most tissable, tasty spot on my little girl I can't hardly stand it. She is so irresistible, her Daddy Junior says her cheeks are like warm yeast rolls, you just have to tiss.
She's so neglected. Poor child.

Shopping with Aunt Ashton

Well, Reagan isn't talking much yet, but boy can you hear her! She loves to yeeeelllll, and make it KNOWN that REAGAN IS HERE! She actually goes to the point of taking a DEEEEP breath... and then lets it go, as long and loud as she can. I love it, but sometimes when we're out it can turn a couple heads. Oh well, at least she is happy, and not screaming crying.
Good lungs. That's my girl.

My BIG GIRL car seat!

Becca, past and present--- May 26, 2009

Well, when Pete and I started dating, this young lady was only 14 months old, and now she's about to turn 15 YEARS OLD!

I feel old when I think about back when we had a little baby Becca around. I remember following her with the video camera on her first day of school, she gave Dawn a hug, "bye mom, see ya" and she was off. Now she only has 3 years left till graduation.

Our trips to the beach, and seeing her in little floaties. I miss how she used to pat the recliner and say "come read me a story!" to anyone who passed by. The first dinner I was invited to at the Hawkes house, she entertained us with her magic tricks. She would hide her hand in her sleeve, "Where did it go?" 2 seconds later... "There it is!" She was so proud of herself.

In a way we are so proud of who she has become, even though she isn't even ours. I hope in some way Pete and I have had a positive influence in her life, because we love her very much. Truly, she doesn't know her family without me in it, which is awesome to think about, and I can't image not having her all these years either. She's a great kid.

Summer of 1999, Becca turning 4 years, right after I graduated.
