Jeanie's visit {April 18, 2011}

It's officially June now, and I am officially the worst blogger.
Sorry Nini, your post came so late!
(and for the longest post ever...)

My mom's sister came out to visit us, which was the BIGGEST and most unexpected surprise I've had in forever. Aunt Jeanie has always lived out west, and never traveled because of her animals. BIG animals. Lions, tigers, and other big cats along with a slew of birds, dogs and horses. I know that doesn't cover ALL her children (sorry Jeanie) but there have been TONS over the years. Her collection of cats and exotic animals started back when she was in high school.

 Sorry to only have these two pics, but I just grabbed them off her facebook page at the last second for this post.  I'll come back and blog about all her babies sometime : )  You're amazing Jeanie!

We have gone out to visit over the years, and Junior's even been out twice.  We've stayed in touch, but there hasn't been an absolute DIRE need for Jeanie to travel cross-country until this little girl came into our lives.  She just had to come meet Reagan, who now has Nini wrapped just like the rest of us ; )

We had fun playing "pass the Nini" all week.  She spent lots of time with me and Reagan, then Ashton would take her home with her for a day, and Alden as well.  We had a family dinner at my house one night and mom's another, just so we could all get together at the same time.  Jeanie never had two-legged children of her own, so she has always enjoyed us through my mom.  And now she has Reagan too!

Okay I am going to list out some of my fav things the Muffin has said lately.  She cracks me up, her little voice, and I'm really getting tired of saying "No really, TODAY she is officially grown up.  My baby is gone."  Then I turn around the next day and can't believe the things she says yet again.

- My tontats -

There is something new she started doing before bed.

I plopped her on the bathroom counter to dry her hair before bed last week.  She leaned into the mirror, squinted her eyes, and said "My tan't see! My need my tontats!"  She grabbed my contact case, filled up both sides and the lids, and put "all 4 tontats" in so she could see.  Her face and hands are soaking when she's done, loves it, and now has made this as important as brushing her teeth at night.
"Wow mommy! Now my tan see!"

Some of my favorite words she uses...

Jasmine = "Dah-swim"

Cinderella = "Cinda-rah-rah"
Beautiful = "Beausital" (my favorite!!!)
yellow = "yeh-we-oh"
handsome = "hair-srum"

"My want to hide now! You find me!"
Best hiding spot was sitting on the floor with the bed skirt barely covering her head. Veeery tricky!

"My want high water!"
Filling the sink for her bath (hehehe!)

ABSOLUTE BEST:

Whenever she is truly upset and crying, she doesn't want to be consoled. In her most sad voice and expression she says:
"My want to be sad..."
If you've heard her say this, you know it takes everything not to laugh. It's so sweet, sad, cute, and adorable all at once. I can't contain myself. She just wants to be held, and does NOT want you to try and change the subject. She will collect herself on her own and then she's fine.
Can you tell I love her!?

The correct words for the song 'The lion sleeps tonight'
"Me-a-whip, me-a-whip,
me-a-whip, me-a-whip!"

- Tangled -

She was in the bath, and while I sat on the floor to soak up a splash, she tells me-
"Mommy, my punzel in my tasle.
You down dere and ast to tum up."
So I naturally belted out...
"Rapuuunzel! Let down your HAAAAIR!"
She whipped her little 4 inches of wet hair over her shoulder and I pretended to climb up- she was SO THRILLED.

- Pell my hair -

"Hey Reagan, does my hair smell good?"

"Hmmm, my nose is full, my tant pell your hair right now."

Easter eggs!  Everyone really got into it, and got all creative.  Abash was tie dying hers, Nini was dripping wax to making designs, and Aba was doing all kinds of weird stuff.  Reagan's talents were balancing and egg on a spoon.  Impressive!

Reagan made this 'neh-wace' for her Nini.  It meant a lot to her - she LOVES it!
: )

The last dinner we had together, Reagan felt it necessary to make Nini a birthday cake.
The whole time she was mixing, she would say:
"Oh, Nini dunna wov dis!  She dunna say 'Oh Rayen! Das a beeeeausital tate! It taste so nummie!' "

Yep.  She was proud of herself!
(And I trust I don't need to translate...!)

Yet another laughing with daddy shot.
Can't you just hear her now!?

Beach next.  : )
