We're still here!
I just hit 25 weeks prego June 10th, all is good, and I'm pretty sure our due date is set for September 22nd. We still haven't decided a name for our new little girl, even though Reagan is pretty insistent we name her Reagan too.
"It mates sense mommy, dat way when breatfast is ready, you tan dust say 'Reaaaaaden!' and we'll BOAF tum! Yeah! Dat would be much easier."
I love this child. She just thinks so practical, right?! : )
I can't believe how behind I am on the blog. It's flat out embarrassing. Honestly, Facebook has made me a little lazy because I tell myself 'at least I put an instagram shot on fb.' Sad. Facebook isn't going to be any sort of long term memories for my kids, and the blog will be. I have GOT to focus on it more...
So, I decided to skip the holiday's (that never got posted) and I've been working on everything since then. Maybe I'll feel like a 'Christmas in July' post if I'm caught up soon ; ) We ARE having a baby 3 months from now after all, and there will soon be a flood of new stuff to crowd my desktop. I'm sure I've said this a million times, but I have a deadline coming!
There is so much I want to write about in this little journal of mine. I want to remember exactly what it was like when we were just "3." I know how hard it is to envision things the way they were after a huge life change. Junior and I agree, it is near impossible to image our world without Reagan. Before our new little girl makes her debut, I am going to try and paint little bits of our life : )
REAGAN'S school...
At the moment, my mind is consumed with a few things. Other than the obvious of growing another
person, I have started Reagan on our homeschooling plans for her. I have always enjoyed making as much as I can into a learning experience, and reading with her has been a priority since she sat still longer than 30 seconds (pretty much since she was a year old.) She is such a sponge, and it's amazing to me how much she has learned in 3 short years.
The change I have made lately is basically to stick to more of a schedule now that she's older. Now granted, she is only 3, so I'm not trying to overload her by any means. If she doesn't seem to be doing well with something, I just try it again the next week. She's not on a curriculum yet since she's so young, but she's working on kindergarten and first grade work books (that I get from Sam's) and reading very well. The thing that amazes me is how much she LOVES to learn, and doing her 'schoolwork' after breakfast everyday really is fun for her. I break things up with some 'daddy exercises,' songs, coloring, and other fun stuff, but we usually spend almost 2 hours working every morning. Our newer things have been counting money (she loves to check out at the store by herself) ~ telling time (a little) ~ adding and subtracting (using crayons and making them into candy scenarios 'if you ate this many...') ~ and spelling. Obviously reading and writing go hand in hand but practicing writing (besides just her letters) is a whole new game. It's really hard to remember she's only 3 sometimes. We're sooo proud of how she's doing. My next step is joining a homeschool group in town, which I am not entirely sure on how to approach. Advice from anyone is welcome!
This post is our trip to Atlanta, and next is the Aquarium visit the next day. We love it every time.
We went to Hard Rock Cafe for lunch and passed though Underground Atlanta.
Junior had such a good eye for the symbolism here. While passing under this beautiful statue, representing scholars reaching for their goals,
you see the occupy wall street protesters camped out right underneath it.
Wow.
No words.
