So I was thinking, it's Valentines Day and I wanted to share our little story. We are coming up on 15 years together, and I am so thankful for my husband.
Love you Junior...
Love you Junior...
We first met in September of 1995. My first real friend, and best friend in high school introduced us. Leslie Scott was friends with Robby and after we met, our first date was on October 5th 1995. We went to Applebee's for dinner and the old Regal theater (new at the time) to see 'Dangerous Minds.' We were both DEATHLY shy, and neither of us had really been in a serious relationship.
I remember getting Junior a collared shirt from Britches (store in the mall that has been gone for 10 years now) as a present for our 7 MONTH anniversary.
How dorky is it to celebrate that?!?! What's funny is that shirt still hangs in our closet today.
I don't think he will never get rid of it.
: )
The proposal:
Junior was working at Rich's, and told me to come by because he wanted to talk to me about something. I actually was nervous, and really had no idea what to expect from how our conversation went. After I got there, I immediately had a sick feeling when he started talking. He tried to talk about us having been through a lot together (meaning in a good way) but I just knew...
He was going to brake up with me.
My mind went a million miles an hour in those few minutes leading up, thinking, 'it has to be another girl...'
I start crying, he gets even more nervous, the whole thing just snowballed.
Because he was so quiet and nervous, he never really recovered well. He kept saying he didn't want to upset me, swares he never meant ANY of the conversation to lead me the way it did, and finally just had to show me the ring. I was thrilled, and confused, but happy.
Romantic huh?
Good thing I'm not a fussy chick and got over it quick, we can laugh about it now...
I wouldn't recommend it to any guys though, not a romantic story to share with the grand kids : )

We had a cozy little wedding at my Mom's house on October 7th 2000. I would definitely say it was one of the most important days in our lives, and I am so thankful he married me. We have always made a good team, and I am proud to say that we are a very stable, predictable couple. At a recent wedding, I thought the one hope I would have for them is that they only think they love each other today. To look back almost 10 years later, there is no comparison to how we feel about each other.
I can't wait to say 20 : )
We enjoyed an 8 year honeymoon before having Reagan. We worked a lot, went on awesome vacations, and it was time to start a family. Reagan has been the best thing to happen to us (which you already know) and I am thankful everyday for both of them.
Happy Valentines Day
HAHAHA that's a funny engagement story! Even better than mine! You guys are so cute and that little Reagan just blows me away she is so beautiful! xoxox
