At home with baby Reagan

Reagan has been a wonderful baby. She is nursing perfectly, and sleeps all the time. I wish she were awake a little more, but I have needed the recovery time. Mom has come and spent the first few days with me, which was nice for my sanity, since I think it is slowly slipping away from me while cooped up in the house. I haven't been the most comfortable, even with meds. But then again, I look at her and wonder how I feel as good as I do when SHE came out of me just a week ago! She really is edible she is so cute, I can't hardly stand it.

Reagan's Birthday... October 21, 2008

Well, it looks like Reagan listened to her daddy, who said all along that she would come 2 weeks early. Exactly 38 weeks, Tuesday morning, I got up at 6:30 to go to the bathroom and my water broke. I called the hospital and was told to come then, but I decided to get in my shower first, since I wan't having contractions or in any pain. I could sit in that hospital bed all day for all I knew, and what's 10 extra minutes? Wrong! I figured out what contractions felt like by the end of my shower, and Junior was starting the car before I was dressed. We were a half a mile down the road and I had already had 4 contractions, strong!
We got to the hospital around 8:20, and were in a room by 8:30. The nurse checked me at 8:45 and I was 100% efaced and 3 centimeters, epideral on the way. The epideral worked perfect, which I got at 9am, and it was smooth sailing from there. The nurse check me again at 10:45, only 2 hours later, and I was fully dialated! We couldn't beleive how fast everything was going. Here I had cards and books packed to get me through the day, and I just had enough time to get all the paperwork filled out.
We waited about 20 minutes for my doctor to get out of a meeting, and at 11:20, she was suited up and ready for pushing. The pushing really wasn't painful at all, and I apparently did well with it, because she was born by 12:20pm. I had a wonderful doctor, nurse and support with my husband there. Both of our mothers were there too.
I can truly say that this has been the most wonderful experience in my life. Both our lives. Junior says it was nothing like what he expected, and enjoyed every moment of it. It was such a comfortable, perfect, fairytale of a delivery. Every piece of it. Especially the prize at the end, that has my husbands hair, and my nose.
Reagan is really the prettiest baby we've ever seen. There are no words to explain the way we feel right now, but let's just say I've cried a whole lot of happy tears since she came into our lives.
The most wonderful experience of our lives... no question.

Sonagram- 34 weeks- September 22, 2008

Tah-dah! There she is, the cutest, most chubby baby already. We went for our last sonagram (the day after our shower) and were floored by what they told us. She is aparently going to be a big girl, in the 80% for size and looking about 6 lbs already! They say she'll gain 1/2 a pound a week, and we have 6 weeks to go! All I want is for her to be healthy, so I have been assured that her size has nothing to do with my gestational diabetes, because I'm keeping my sugar levels where they need to be. It's just looking like she'll be big anyway : ) We are so excited, and Junior says she definely has Kaki's nose (and mine, he-he) Oh, and she also has hair! Not sure how much exactly, but they told us "definitely more than peach fuzz." (In the next picture, the white halo around her head is hair) So maybe she will go home with a littal bow on her head!

Baby shower! September 21, 2008

Our Baby Shower was this weekend! Beth, Mom, and Ashton threw the shower for us, and it was absolutely perfect. We had a couples shower, so everyone could come, and they made burgers on the grill and all the stuff to go with it. We had an unbeleivable amount of gifts that humbles me to even think about. I am so grateful for all the people we have in our lives, and soon to be Reagan's too. I have to say, I have been more cited about one certain gift, I knew it was coming from SaraBeth's mom, and I love it more than anything. She hand made a blanket for Reagan, and I truely think it's the most perfect, beautiful blanket I've ever seen. I absolutely love it, and it was the gift that made me cry. I wish that SaraBeth and her family were here through my pregnancy, I really miss them and feel like they are missing out on alot. BUT... I would much rather them come visit when Reagan is here verses now, so I guess it's okay. They've been a big part of my life, and I want her to have them as well.

Baby Reagan, 33 weeks- Sept 15, 2008

Everything is still wonderful in Reagan's world! I've been keeping my sugar levels down, and it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I am starting to runout of skin to stretch though, and my pot is getting pretty tight! I really can't beleive that I am due in only 7 weeks, It's almost here already.
This weekend, (Sept 20-22) I have been looking forward to for weeks. On Saturday, I have a maternity massage (Ashton gave me for my birthday), Sunday is our Baby Shower, and Monday is our Sonogram! I went for the massage today and it was wonderful. I'm all mushy now, and Reagan even got a massage too!

Tomorrow the baby shower is at mom's house, and mom, Ashton and Beth are in charge. We are doing a couples shower so that both our families can come, and Pete's friends too. I really didn't want some girly shower, just a party with some littal guhl decorations : ) I can't wait. I am so thankful I have a good relationship with my mom and sister, and I'm excited to bring littal Reagan into this bunch of Stevenson guhls. (I wonder if she'll have Kaki's nose too? Mom, Ashton and I all have my grandmother's nose... )
