Pete and Tanner: Opening SOON... Pine Camp! {May 2010}

Just to refresh-

The day after Christmas my Mom had a house fire. Pretty well contained (because of an air-tight house) but just about the whole house had to be gutted and redone because of smoke damage.

They have been staying in one of our town houses (funny, we're staying in her place now...) and are coming up on the completion. The cabinets are going in, and walls are being painted.

The real chore is going to come in furnishing and decorating. Image EVERY THING in your house ruined, and replacing it ALL. Needless to say, her eldest will be assisting/doing all that is asked of her to help out.

It's kinda-cool that my Mom wants my help, she actually consulted me before any of her decisions were made. He he he! I picked paint, vetoed the florescent lights going back in, and tried to talk her out of wall paper again. We compromised, there's a little wallpaper, but it looks like a neutral textured wall. She will be moving her washer and dryer into her closet, per my request, and now the utility room is going to be an awesome mud-room with lots of storage, which she was lacking.

I love that woman.

Oh... SURPRISE for Mom!

Before, she had top notch custom cabinets in her kitchen, but then the utility and bathrooms were just white (nicer in the bathrooms though) WELL... Even after adding a whole lot more cabinets to her utility room, they will ALL be the custom hickory cabinets to match the kitchen.

They are BEAUTIFUL!!!
